Sheriff Lenn Wood - Coweta County Sheriff’s Department

Sheriff Lenn Wood is a lifelong resident of Coweta County who began his law enforcement career in 1978 as a patrolman at the Newnan Police Department. He served the Newnan Police Department for 17 years, achieving the rank of Detective Sergeant. In 1995, he joined the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office, and continued to move forward, holding several positions within the department. Sheriff Wood became Interim Sheriff in March of 2019, then won a special election later that year to remain in office. Sheriff Wood is very involved in the community and believes in giving back.

Empowered 4 Life: Who is E4L?

Empowered 4 Life was established in 2007 as a way to train and mentor student-athletes year around. E4L prepares student-athletes ages 4-18 for their next level of competition. Our goal is to maximize the students God-given talent. In August of 2008, we started to assist students in the college recruiting process. From 2008 to present day, we have assisted in over 400 students receiving college athletic scholarships. E4L instills an understanding of faith and Empowered 4 Life offer the athletes assistance on college trips which includes speaking with coaches and administrators as well as engaging with other student-athletes. Our motto is, “We are going to TRUST GOD and TRUST THE PROCESS.”
